Senator Oshiomhole Behaves Like a “Market Tout” After Missing Flight - GidiTraffic Slams Former Governor | Air Peace Debunks Extortion Allegation, Demands CCTV Footage From FAAN
The management of Air Peace has issued a strong rebuttal to allegations made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, describing his claims as “deliberate falsehood” and an attempt to damage the airline’s reputation.
In a detailed statement signed by its management, Air Peace stated unequivocally that no passenger was extorted, contrary to what the Senator had publicly claimed. The airline challenged Oshiomhole to provide a single piece of evidence supporting his accusation.
“None of our staff extorted any passenger. No tickets were sold after the check-in process was closed for that flight. Every passenger onboard had purchased their ticket well in advance,” the statement read.
Air Peace went further to debunk another serious allegation — that the flight was overbooked. According to the airline, the aircraft actually departed with over 30 empty seats, stressing that there was no financial gain in denying boarding to the senator and others who arrived late.
“Senator Oshiomhole and others missed their flight because they were late. It is against our core policy to delay flights or compromise punctuality for any reason, including monetary incentives,” the airline emphasized.
Refuting claims that Oshiomhole was speaking up for other passengers, Air Peace clarified that he received no preferential treatment, and rather than advocate for others, he disrupted airport operations.
“He jumped onto the baggage conveyor belt, blocked the check-in area for other flights, and even barricaded the entrance gate, preventing passengers from accessing the terminal. He also incited others against the airline during this time,” Air Peace added.
The airline has now called on the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to release the full CCTV footage of the events, from the time Oshiomhole entered the airport, so that Nigerians can see the truth for themselves.
Air Peace concluded by describing Senator Oshiomhole’s conduct as defamatory, violent, and disgraceful, urging public figures to lead by example rather than attempt to intimidate organizations with unfounded accusations.
